Our particular specialty is “Design-build Retrofits” for residential clients. This means taking an existing landscape, salvaging the best plants and changing the landscape to a totally new look. We design landscapes “from the inside out” to add living space outdoors, increase privacy, provide shade, and increase property value. Our designs are casual, stress low maintenance, and feature a wide variety of unusual plants. Our designs often include modifications to existing decks, custom trellises and pergolas, and unique wood fences.

Our installations include comprehensive soil preparation and measures to eliminate perennial weeds like dandelion and thistle. Thriving plants are the best protection against weeds and disease, so we pick the right plants and take extra care to install them properly.

We stock and install large trees including shade trees and specimen flowering trees. Most of our work is done the “old-fashioned way” using old-world craftsmanship instead of heavy equipment which damages yards and compacts the soil.

Complete Landscapes

GoodSeed Farm designs, installs and maintains complete turnkey landscape including shade trees, shrubs & perennials, hardscaping and water features. We specialize in “retrofits” of existing landscapes. We also landscape new homes.

Paver Patios & Walks

We stock and install a wide variety of concrete paver products, from paving brick to cobblestone-style tumbled stone. We and install all kinds of rugged, stylish and long-lasting walks, patios and driveways.

Ponds & Waterfalls

We are an installing dealer for Aquascape Designs, a nationally known manufacturer of engineered water feature systems. We can custom-design and install ponds and waterfalls quickly and affordably. We use a step-by step, proven system to insure that your water feature is trouble-free.

Retaining Walls

We are distributors for Allan Block, Reading Rock and Pavestone retaining walls. We design and install segmental wall systems, and stock many wall products in our garden center for do-it-yourselfers.

Instant Shade

We stock a huge selection of nursery trees and offer quality installation of large trees. Our professional 12-step tree planting process gets tree established quickly, and we warranty our tree plantings for 5 years.

Design-build projects begin with a meeting to look at your property and talk about what is important to you. We then make a detailed site plan showing your entire property and everything on it, drawn in 1/8 scale. We use these measurements to create a design drawing showing how we think your finished landscape should look. We prepare a detailed estimate of all the costs for everything shown on the design drawing.

When your design is completed we invite you to our garden center to review it. We can show you actual plants and hardscape materials, photos of similar installations and perhaps tour actual finished projects so you can visualize your design. Then we can plan the best way to make your plan a reality.

The cost for your landscape plan will depend on how many hours it took to complete. If you decide to purchase a complete landscape from GoodSeed Farm, we will credit the entire cost of the design phase against the labor cost of the job. Design-build projects can be done in phases according to your budget. Design credits are proportional to the portion of the job you purchase.
